GSA Abstract Submission Guidelines

Abstract Content and Presentation

  • Please familiarize yourself with and adhere to the Events Code of Conduct for abstract publication and meeting presentation.
  • Abstracts must describe recent findings in the realms of science, pedagogy, or their applications.
  • All abstracts undergo peer review. Common reasons for rejection include dubious conclusions, questionable methodologies, poorly written prose, and incomplete or outdated information.
  • The Technical Program Committee (TPC) will attempt to honor the authors’ designations of Topical Session, Discipline, or presentation mode (oral or poster). Final assignments remain at the discretion of the Technical Program Chair (TPC). Session scheduling and presentation modes are firm once assigned. No changes will be made to the program after acceptance notices are mailed.

Authors

  • Again, please adhere to the Events Code of Conduct describing content, authorship, and scholarship.
  • CO-AUTHORS: You may be listed on additional abstracts as a non-presenting co-author. There is no limit to the number of abstracts one can co-author.
  • All presenting authors, including invited speakers, are responsible for paying their abstract submission fee, and their meeting registration fees.
  • The presenters' email address will not be sold. For more information, please see GSA's Privacy Policy.
  • Acceptance notifications will be emailed 27 August.
  • Enhance your professional reputation by submitting a refined abstract. Then, deliver an admirable presentation.

Presenters

  • Acceptance notifications will be emailed 27 August.
  • GSA has a downloadable "no recording" graphic available to use on your presentation, if you wish.
  • All presentations—oral and posters—will be recorded for delivery on the meeting platform.
  • GSA and their audiovisual vendors will work directly with each accepted abstract in order to ensure a great recording of your presentation is prepared. More information will be sent in early September.

  • Presentations will be available online beginning 19 October.

Sessions

  • Sessions are going to be scheduled for either 2 hours in the morning, or 4 hours in the afternoon. Please take some time to review the GSA 2020 Connects Online schedule.
  • Oral sessions will have a mix of both oral and poster presentations.
  • All recorded presentations must be completed and uploaded by 2 October.
  • Presentations will be posted and available for viewing 19 October.
  • During the session, some session chairs may want to show presentations, followed with a 3 minute question and answer period. Other session chairs may opt to not show the recording, but use the time for questions and answers.
  • For sessions that have all posters, there will be a showing of the presentation, followed by a 5 minute question and answer.
  • Presenters must be present during their time slot.
