Attention GSA student members presenting at GSA Connects 2024. If your abstract was accepted for a presentation at the 2024 annual meeting, you might be eligible for a $1,000 travel grant awarded by GSA's History and Philosophy of Geology Division (HPGD). The award is available to either an undergraduate or graduate student presenting a paper or a poster.
The presentation may be on the history or philosophy of geology, a literature review of ideas for a technical work or thesis/dissertation, or on some innovative aspect of the history or philosophy of geology. All students regardless of discipline can apply, as long as the accepted abstract for the presentation is related to the history or philosophy of a geological idea, person, etc. After the applications have been reviewed by the HPGD Awards Committee, the winner will be notified. The $1000 award will be presented at the annual GSA meeting.
