ASC 1. From the Earth to the Repository and Beyond: Fossil Collecting and Collections Issues at Every Level
Sat., 21 Sept., 7:45 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Free. Limit: 75. In-person.

Instructors: Sand Carlson, Cori Myers, Jorge Velez-Juarbe, Hunter Olson, Jessica Cundiff, Andy Farke, and Don Mikulic.

Endorsed by: The Paleontological Society

Abstract:

Our livelihood as paleontologists depends upon fossils, yet useful, practical information on collecting fossils and researching collections of fossils is widely scattered, often incomplete, and possibly outdated. The Paleontological Society (P.S.) Collections Subcommittee of the Governmental Affairs Committee is hosting the P.S. Short Course. We invite everyone to participate in this day-long educational/tutorial short course by listening to half-hour talks, engaging with panel discussions, and participating in group discussions on these important issues.
