    The deadline to submit an abstract for Connects 26 is 6 August 2026 at 11:59 p.m. PT. We have highlighted specific sessions that align with your interests. To view these sessions, please follow the hyperlink below. You can submit an abstract by simply clicking “Submit Abstract” in the upper right corner of the session. We look forward to your contribution and seeing you in Denver, 11-14 October 2026!

    50 Under 50 Award Nominations Close Today!

    Today is the final day to recognize outstanding, mid-career geoscientists through the 50 Under 50 Award. Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate exceptional scientists advancing geoscience through research, service, mentorship, and leadership.

     

    This joint initiative from the Geological Society of America (GSA), Geological Association of Canada (GAC), and the Sociedad Geológica Mexicana (SGM) honors remarkable geoscientists across North America who are shaping the future of the field.

     

    Submit your nomination today, and help recognize excellence in geoscience. We encourage you to nominate deserving colleagues or consider applying to showcase your own contributions to the field.

    Deadline: 26 May 2026

    Self-nominations are welcome and encouraged.

    Applicants Must:

    • Be under 50 years of age at the end of award year
    • Have completed their terminal degree by 30 June 2018
    • Reside in Canada, the United States, or Mexico
    • Be a member of GSA, GAC, or SGM

    Application Materials:

    • A personal statement or nomination letter (max. 2 pages)
    • A letter of support (max. 1 page)
    • A CV (max. 5 pages)

    Applications may be submitted in English, Spanish, or French.

    Additional Information:

     

    Up to 50 awardees will be selected each year, representing a diverse range of disciplines and contributions across North America.

     

    Recipients will be recognized across GSA, GAC, and SGM platforms and invited to participate in special sessions at upcoming meetings, providing additional visibility for their work and impact.
