Critical Dates

Headquarters Hotel

The Hyatt Regency Portland will serve as GSA’s headquarter hotel with the Doubletree by Hilton Portland as the co-headquarter hotel. All hotels provide easy access to the Oregon Convention Center by foot or light rail.

Booking a hotel in the GSA block just got a little more interesting!

To show our appreciation for your support of GSA Connects 2021 Portland we have worked with Travel Portland to provide you with a few incentives if you book your hotel reservation by 7 Sept.

All reservations booked through the GSA Housing Bureau/Connections Housing by 7 Sept. will be entered in the “Boost Your Stay” raffle. Prizes include:

  • 5 - $50 gift cards to a popular Portland restaurant
  • 2 - Roundtrip VIP town car service to and from Portland International Airport
  • 1 - Complimentary coffee tasting tour for two (walking tour with Third Wave Coffee Tours)
  • 1 - Complimentary wine tasting tour for two with a local tour company (includes transportation, guide, and tasting fees at the wineries)

The following hotels are also offering an upgrade (applied to reservations made at the GSA group rate)

  • 1 - Upgrade to a Jr. Suite at the Hyatt Regency Portland at the OCC
  • 1 - Upgrade to a Governor Suite at the DoubleTree by Hilton Portland
  • 1 - Upgrade to an Executive Level room at the Crowne Plaza Portland

To enter: Make your reservation through the GSA Housing Bureau/Connections Housing by 7 Sept.

To claim: All winners will be notified by 17 Sept. You must keep your hotel reservation to receive the prize. If you cancel your reservation, the prize will be forfeited and awarded to another attendee.

Protect Yourself from Scams

The official GSA housing bureau is Connections Housing. To receive the GSA group rate at each hotel, reservations must be made through Connections Housing and not directly with the hotels. GSA and Connections Housing will NOT contact attendees directly to solicit new reservations.

If you are contacted by a vendor who claims to represent GSA, please notify the GSA Meetings Department at meetings@geosociety.org. Please do not make hotel arrangements or share any personal information through any means other than a trusted, reliable source.

Special Requests

Please contact Connections Housing at +1-702-659-9510 or TravelPortland@connectionshousing.com if you have special requests, including if you need to book a hotel suite. Some requests are not guaranteed, and hotels will assign specific room types upon check-in, based on availability.

Acknowledgments

Connections Housing will send reservation acknowledgments within 24 hours via email if you booked online or by telephone; fax and mail acknowledgments will be sent within 72 hours of receipt. If you do not receive your acknowledgment in this time frame, contact Connections Housing. You will not receive a written confirmation from the hotel. The hotels will not access their room lists from GSA/Connections Housing until sometime after 15 Sept. Please do not contact the hotels directly regarding changes to your reservation until 72 hours prior to your arrival date.

Deposits, Cancelations, and Changes

All reservation requests must be accompanied by a credit card guarantee or check equaling the amount of one night’s room and tax for each room reserved. Reservations canceled after 7 Sept. and 72 hours prior to your arrival will be subject to a non-refundable US$25 fee for each room canceled which is in addition to the hotel’s cancelation policy. cancelations made 72 hours prior to your arrival or less will result in a one-night non-refundable guest room charge plus applicable taxes as well as the $25 cancelation fee posted to the attendee’s credit card on file. Within 72 hours of your arrival, contact hotels directly to make changes and cancelations.
