About Us

The purposes of the Soils and Soil Processes Division are: (1) to bring together scientists interested in modern, buried or fossilized (paleosol) soils, (2) to facilitate the presentation and discussion of their uses to solve geoscientific issues and ideas, (3) to promote research and the publication of results on soil and paleosol studies, (4) to cooperate with other Divisions and Sections of the Society and with other scientific organizations in fostering, aiding, furthering, and promoting research in soils and paleosols, and (5) to advise and assist the officers and committees of the Society in matters pertaining to soils and paleosols.
