Am I a bariatric chauvinist?

I am here a bit over a month and I have yet to see an obese person. I have one overweight (but not obese) young lady in my class, which is a rarity. The only overweight persons are some (not even a majority) of “babushkas” over 50. Men any age and women below 50 are almost universally thin as a rail… And it is not for lack of nourishment… or scarcity of fast-food places. Pizzerias are a rage and there is no dearth of various burger places. Mini-“supermarkets”, with aisles for thin people, are full with everything from inexpensive cheap stuff to high quality products (caviar being the most expensiveJ) There is plenty of popular restaurants, serving typical Russian fares; you can have a good dinner (with a good beer) for under US$12… or you may go to a fake Italian restaurant, where a dinner will cost you $20. I have yet to venture further to explore some more distant feeding/watering places…
