Join me for From Plum Bayou Mounds to Crowley’s Ridge: Exploring Archaeology and Fluvial Landscapes on Thursday, March 12 in conjunction with the GSA Section Meeting in Memphis! This full-day (8 a.m.–5 p.m.) field trip connects geoarchaeology, fluvial geomorphology, and Mississippian archaeology through visits to Plum Bayou Mounds (Toltec), Village Creek State Park, and Parkin Archaeological State Park. Participants will examine mound landscapes, loess and ridge geomorphology, and river-driven settlement patterns across the Mississippi Valley.
