I would like to invite you to consider submitting an abstract to our session
T5. Extending the Rocky Mountains: Tectonics, Basin Evolution, and Magmatism of Continental Rifting at the 2025 Rocky Mountain Region - Geological Society of America Meeting in Provo, Utah
May 18th-20th. The meeting will also include numerous
field trips around the region. Please consider submitting to this or other sessions and joining us for a meeting in a gorgeous corner of western U.S. right under the Wasatch Mountains.
More session details below:
Session Description: The Rocky Mountain region hosts diverse styles of continental extension, providing a natural laboratory that records a complex history of deformation, magmatism, and basin formation associated with rifting. We invite submissions on the evolution of tectonics, magmatism, and sedimentary basins within extensional zones of the Rocky Mountains.
Convenors: Alex Tye (Utah Tech University) & Alyssa Abbey (California State University Long Beach)
If you've not been to a regional GSA meeting before, they offer a conference environment that fosters interactions between students, faculty, and government scientists at a smaller, more accessible scale than the annual Geological Society of America meeting. This particular regional meeting is shaping up to have a phenomenal program.
