Cancellations
The following policy applies to refunds in the event that you have paid a deposit and/or paid for the trip in-full and then must cancel your reservation hen a trip is solely operated by GSA.  Please check the cancellation policy of our partners (Holbooks etc) for jointly run trips as their policy overrule this policy.  Likewise, any refund policy listed on the registration forms overrule this policy.


  • If you have paid a trip deposit and must cancel before the advertised deposit deadline listed for each trip, you will receive your full refund of the deposit.
  • If you cancel from the trip after the advertised deposit deadline and before the advertised no-cancellation date (normally around one month out from the departure of the trip), you will be refunded all moneys paid minus a $100 processing fee per person.
  • If you cancel after the no-cancellation date, there is no refund.
  • If the trip is cancelled by GSA for any reason (minimum number attending not reached, trip leader illness, etc.), GSA will provide full refund.


Purchasing Your Airline Tickets
Please be advised that you should not purchase flight tickets unless GSA has confirmed that the trip will run. GSA has a minimum number of participants that must attend in order to provide this tour service. If we do not reach that minimum number of participants, GSA can decide not to run the tour.   Normally, an email will be sent soon after the advertised deposit deadline IF a trip is being cancelled.  Please check with the GeoVentures program manager BEFORE purchasing your airline tickets. GSA cannot be responsible for tickets bought prior to confirmation of the tour.

Travel Insurance
GSA strongly advises you to take out travel insurance for any GeoVenture you wish to attend to ensure that you are covered for illness or other mishap that would stop you from participating after the no-cancellation date, as GSA will not offer a refund within this period.
